A Muay Thai fighter, Tawan Chai is known for his technical skills, powerful kicks, and fast punches. Tawan Chai was born on April 7, 1999 in Pattaya, Thailand. Tawan Chai started learning Muay Thai at the age of 7 at the Petchrungruang Muay Thai gym near his home, both to help his family’s financial difficulties and for his own interest. Tawan Chai won his first fight at the age of 8.
Since his childhood, Tawan Chai has been training hard to improve his powerful kicks and fast punches. At the age of 14, Tawanchai moved to Bangkok to further his Muay Thai skills, competing at Bangkok’s famous Lumpinee Stadium. In 2015, Tawanchai’s qualities, such as his powerful kicks and fast punches, were noticed by Prachanchai, a former Thai fighter, and he invited Tawanchai to the Pk Saenchai gym, where he joined at the age of 16. After Tawanchai arrived at the Pk Saenchai gym, his boxing skills improved significantly, winning many competitions and winning Muay Thai titles. In 2017, he defeated Wayunoi Petchkiatpetch to become the Thai 126-pound champion.
On September 7, 2018, he defeated Kulabdam, who won the 2017 Thai Muay Thai Fighter of the Year award, becoming the best Muay Thai fighter of 2018. After that, Tawanchai fought two more rematches with Kulabdam, winning both times. Tawanchai became a world-famous fighter at the age of 20 due to his hard work. Tawanchai's first fight abroad in 2019 was against Wu Lin Feng kickboxing in China on July 27, 2019. The Chinese fighter's fast punches led to his defeat in the second round. Tawanchai became a better fighter after that loss. In 2021, Tawanchai signed with ONE CHAMPIONSHIP. On May 15, 2021, Tawanchai made his ONE CHAMPIONSHIP debut, defeating Sean Clancy with a stunning high kick in the third round, capturing the attention of the world. Tawanchai won several matches with his beautiful high kicks and fast punches, earning him the opportunity to challenge Featherweight Muay Thai Champion Petchmorakot. On September 29, 2022, he defeated Petchmorakot by unanimous decision to become the Featherweight Muay Thai Champion. Since winning the Featherweight Muay Thai title, Tawanchai has gone on to win numerous kickboxing and title defenses.
Tawanchai has defended his title against Featherweight Muay Thai veterans Jo Nattawut and Superbon. Then, he fought another undefeated fight, Jo Nattawut, to defend his title for the second time, winning by unanimous decision. Tawanchai's fast and accurate kicks are a nightmare for opponents. On January 24, 2025, at One 170, he defeated former rival Superbon by knockout in the second round, proving that he is the undisputed champion of Featherweight Muay Thai.
